The working area of labour law has completely changed since the 1970s. Research in the field focuses on both the traditional labour law, as well as labour market policies. In the past it was a question of determining what was applicable under Swedish law. Today the scope has widened, and includes both a European dimension and more global aspects. Integration with Europe in the field of labour law has created side-effects influencing both education and research. Many research projects in the labour law area show the European influence, whereas other projects are still deeply rooted in the traditional Swedish model.
